Who we are

We built Small Baker because we’ve been on the other side of the counter.

We’ve run a micro bakery for years: early mornings, preorders, weekend pickups and the steady work of turning neighbors into regulars. Alongside it we’ve built and run other businesses, where we learned how customers actually find a business online.

Put those two together and one thing was hard to miss. Micro bakeries make some of the best food in town, and almost nobody can find them. Most have an order page on Bakesy or Hotplate and an Instagram account, and that’s it. When someone nearby searches for sourdough or a birthday cake, the results are chains, grocery stores and big directories. The baker three streets away doesn’t show up.

What we do about it

Getting found online takes two things a one-person bakery rarely has time or money for: search engine work done at scale, and an advertising budget. We do both on behalf of every bakery listed here.

What we don’t do

We don’t take a cut of your orders, and we don’t stand between you and your customers. Orders go through your own shop, and messages come straight to you. Listings show only public business details, and any baker can correct or remove theirs at any time.
